Shakila Monfared, a monarchist political prisoner, has been on a hunger strike for more than two days in protest against two new charges and ongoing pressure in prison.
Ashkan Monfared, her brother, wrote on Twitter: "Both charges in a single case could lead to long-term sentences up to 10 years or even a death sentence." He linked these charges to an incident involving a "glass office or desk" during his sister's arrest on June 27th. Mr. Monfared mentioned that these accusations stem from a report or complaint by Masoumeh Shaqaqi, the deputy prosecutor of Evin Court.
He further described the harassment of their family and the disregard for his sister's requests by prison authorities and the judiciary.
Last night, he announced: "The family was informed from Evin Prison that due to Shakila Monfared's deteriorating condition, she is being transferred to Taleghani Hospital."
