The Revolutionary Court of Mashhad has sentenced Fatemeh Sepehri and Mohammad-Hossein Sepehri, two monarchist political prisoners held in Vakilabad Prison, to three years and nine months in prison. This verdict was issued by Branch 5 of the court in connection with a letter the siblings published.

According to the ruling, each was sentenced to:
2 years and 6 months for "insulting the Supreme Leader"
1 year and 3 months for "propaganda against the regime"
Their trial was held via video conference.
In the Fall of 2024, they were formally charged by Branch 905 of the Mashhad Prosecutor’s Office. Fatemeh Sepehri, one of the signatories of the letter calling for Ali Khamenei’s resignation, had previously been sentenced to a total of 18 years and 6 months in separate cases. Similarly, Mohammad-Hossein Sepehri had received an eight-year prison sentence in another case.
In October 2023, Iran’s Administrative Court of Justice upheld Mohammad-Hossein Sepehri's dismissal from the Ministry of Education, a decision originally issued in November 2022 and later delivered to him in prison.
Additionally, in January 2023, the Mashhad Criminal Court sentenced Fatemeh Sepehri to:
1 year in prison and a 20 million toman fine for “spreading falsehoods and disturbing public opinion”
In another case, she was sentenced to:
10 years for “collaborating with hostile governments”
5 years for “assembly and collusion”
2 years for “insulting the Supreme Leader”
1 year for “propaganda against the regime”
The Court of Appeals upheld this ruling, and under Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, 10 years of her sentence are enforceable.
Mohammad-Hossein Sepehri has also faced previous arrests and convictions for his activism.
