Political Activist Yashar Tabrizi Speaks Out After 33 Days of Enforced Disappearance, Health Deteriorates Amid Prison Abuse

Yashar Tabrizi, a monarchist political activist, ended 33 days of enforced disappearance on Sunday, December 22, with a brief call to his family. During the call, he disclosed harrowing accounts of physical and psychological torture he endured while in detention.
According to sources close to Tabrizi, he has resorted to a dry hunger strike and sewn his lips shut in protest against the denial of visitation rights, communication with his family, and the severe pressures inflicted upon him in prison. His continued strike has left him in a semi-conscious state, prompting prison authorities to forcibly reopen his stitched lips and administer intravenous fluids to stabilize him temporarily.
Despite all these actions, Tabrizi’s health remains in critical condition. His family holds the Islamic Republic, the judiciary, and the prison authorities responsible for his well-being, demanding immediate action to safeguard his life. Yashar Tabrizi faces charges of "acting against national security" and "collaborating with foreign governments."
