Mehdi Meskin Navaz, has been repeatedly harassed, physically assaulted

Mehdi Meskin-Navaz, a pro-monarchy political prisoner, was returned to Bandar Anzali Prison on September 3, 2024, after a four-month medical furlough from serving a 13-year sentence. Despite the principle of separation of crimes, he is detained alongside prisoners convicted of general offenses.

Reports indicate that Mr. Meskin-Navaz has been repeatedly harassed, physically assaulted, and threatened by a fellow inmate who is imprisoned for murder. His life is in danger, raising serious concerns about his safety and the failure to uphold fundamental prisoner rights in Bandar Anzali Prison.
