Sara Abbasi, wife of Manouchehr Bakhtiari—the father of slain protester Pouya Bakhtiari—has revealed that she has not received any contact from her husband since March 19th. She says he spent the entire Nowruz holiday in solitary confinement.

In a brief message, Mr. Bakhtiari reported being threatened with death by Mr. Gholami, the head of intelligence for Qazvin’s prison system, stating: “My life is in danger.”

Mrs. Abbasi condemned the judiciary’s injustice, emphasizing that her husband has spent over four and a half years behind bars—mostly in solitary—simply for seeking justice. She called on the public to be his voice, saying: “Seeking justice is not a crime, but in our country, the government treats it as the gravest offense.”
