Political prisoner Mahmoud Mehrabi, detained in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan, has been acquitted of the charge of "corruption on earth" by the Isfahan Revolutionary Court, a charge that previously led to a death sentence against him.
Babak Farsani, Mr. Mehrabi's defense lawyer, shared the news, stating:
"My client, Mahmoud Mehrabi, has been acquitted of the charge of 'corruption on earth' by a ruling issued by a parallel branch of the Isfahan Revolutionary Court."
Following the acceptance of Mr. Mehrabi's appeal, his death sentence was overturned by the Supreme Court, and the case was referred to a parallel court for reevaluation, leading to this acquittal.
