Kazem Alinezhad Baranlou, a pro-Monarchy political prisoner, reported in a phone call the deterioration of his health and the lack of medical attention in prison.
According to Mr. Baranlou, prison authorities have denied him access to essential medications, including diabetes injections, heart medicine, and respiratory inhalers. Despite requiring immediate hospitalization, officials demanded he wear a prison uniform, and after refusing to comply, they prevented his transfer to the hospital.
He stated, "I will not wear the disgraceful uniform of the Islamic Republic. Be my voice." Baranlou also announced his decision to go on a hunger strike in protest.
Kazem Alinezhad Baranlou was arrested during the fall of 2023 and later sentenced by the Revolutionary Court to five years of imprisonment. He has a prior history of arrests due to his political activism.
