A source close to his family stated, "Mr. Alinejad, who suffers from heart disease and diabetes,

recently fell in the prison yard and sustained severe knee injuries. Despite his urgent need for specialized medical attention, prison officials have refused to transfer him to a hospital. For the past two days, they have promised to send him to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran, but each time they cite administrative delays as reasons for postponement."
