Gelareh Abbasi, a monarchist political activist, was released on bail from Evin Prison on February 26.

She was arrested on February 20 at her home in western Tehran by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and subsequently transferred to Evin Prison. The charges against her remain unclear.

Previously, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Iman Afshari, sentenced her to 2 years and 6 months in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion.” After serving several months of her sentence, she was released from Evin Prison in 2023.

Gelareh Abbasi, 48, is a former political prisoner, a mother to a young daughter, and the sole provider for her family.
