Faraz Razavian, a Baha'i citizen, was sentenced to imprisonment and other punishments.

Faraz Razavian, a Baha'i citizen, has been sentenced by the Rasht Revolutionary Court to two years and one day of imprisonment, a monetary fine, and a deprivation of social rights.

According to the ruling issued by Branch 3 of the Rasht Revolutionary Court and communicated to him, Razavian has been sentenced to two years and one day of imprisonment, an 80 million toman fine, and five years and one day of deprivation of social rights.


A source close to Mr. Razavian's family said, "He has not been previously arrested or interrogated. Recently, during his mother Mojgan Samimi's trial in this same court, Faraz was suddenly named a defendant. Both he and his mother were convicted in court for engaging in educational activities and promoting Baha'i-related matters. After his defense attorney requested a separate trial, the same verdict was reissued against him."
