More than four months after the arrest of Arian Shirpisheh, the uncle of the late Pouya Bakhtiari, he remains in detention at Evin Prison without legal proceedings. His release on bail has not been permitted, and no court hearing has been held to address the charges against him.
Arian Shirpisheh was arrested on September 16, 2024, by intelligence agents at his residence. During the arrest, security forces also confiscated his phones and other electronic devices.
So far, no information has been shared about the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against him. Previously, a source suggested that his detention might be related to his participation in memorials for protest victims and his connections with their families.
