Akbar Hosseini, a former political prisoner and monarchist activist, was assaulted this morning by agents of the Islamic Republic while visiting the grave of the late Hananeh Kia.
The assailants severely beat him before fleeing the scene. Hosseini was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care.
Mr. Hosseini had previously been arrested during his mandatory military service in the army for supporting the Iranian people and the families of victims seeking justice.
